Castner Golf - Student Golfing Accomplishments
Bill has many golfing students that compete through out the year in various golf competitions, either in New Jersey or New York and this is a list of all of his students golfing accomplishments.
SEAN ELLIOTT - WHER IS HE NOW? 2009 Update:
Bill's student, Sean Elliott, has relocated to Hilton Head, SC and is how living and learning at the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy. Sean is living his dream.
The 15-year-old brings to Hank Haney IJGA an impressive golf resume including victories in the Watchung NJ High School Conference last April and the 2007 NJ PGA Junior Event at Rugters. As a 12-year old, Elliott scored wins at the 2006 US Kids/ NJ Championship and represented New Jersey in the US Kids World Championship in Pinehurst in 2006. In addition, he captured top honors in both stroke play and match play at the 2006 Union County High School Championship at Roselle Park Country Club.
Sean continues his stellar play at Hank Haney IJGA. In seven tournaments so far on the International Junior Golf Tour, he has scored three consecutive victories including Kiawah Island and The Links at Stono Ferry as well as four top five finishes. “One shot at a time and having a strong mental game have been the keys to my success.”

JOHN & KAREN NEEDHAM:
- 1st Place winner - 2006 Jumping Brook County Club Member/Member. First time a husband/wife team has won in 77 yr. history of the club.
LISA SCARFUTO:
- Scored a DOUBLE EAGLE on the 5-par 4th hole at Plainfield West 9
WAYNE CARRICK:
- Winner - 2006 Colonia County Club Member - Guest
JACOB STOCKL:
Jacob is off to a great start to the year by winning the following events:
- Won the Mountain Valley Conference - Mountain Division Tournament - May 2008
- Won - Union County Golf Tournament - score 73 - May 2008
Last year, Jacob Stockl won the US Kids Regional Golf Championship for the 12-year old age division. Jacob continues to have an excellent year in 2007, posting scores of 76 and 72 at the 2007 Junior Masters at Ballyowen Golf Course.
- 3rd Place - 12-year old Division - US Kids/ NJ Championship at Pine Barrens.
- Awarded the 2006 U.S. Kids New Jersey Player of the Year honors.
- 1st place Winner - NJPGA/US Kids Tournament at Flanders CC (12 yr old Boys division)

PAOLO MATI:
- Congratulations to Paolo Matti on winning the Boys 10 to 11 age division of the Plantation Junior Tour at Reston National in Virginia, Feb 28th 2009. Great playing in tough conditions!
- At age 10, Palo captured his first national junior title (age 10-12 division) winning the Allstar Junior Tour Event at Kingsmill in early March. Matti shot a total score of 178 en route to his big win.
- Winner of the 2007 Winner of NJ PGA/ US Kids event.
- 1st Place - 2006 NJJGA event - 9 yr. old division.
PETER KIM:
- CONGRATULATIONS to Peter, of Metuchen, NJ who recently won the 40th MGA/ Met Life Boys Championship played at Rumson Country Club. The 13-year old Peter defeated Benjamin DeForest for his first MGA victory. He now earns exemptions into both the Met Junior Championship and Carter Cup for his remaining years of eligibility.
- 5th place - US Kids World Teen Championship - Age 13 group - Pinehurst #5, July 2008
- Semifinalist - New Jersey State Boys Championship - Royce Brook, July 2008
- Winner of several NJPGA Junior golf events in 2008 season
- 1st place - 2007 NJ PGA/US Kids Westfield Pee Wee at Hyatt Hills(Boys age group 11)
ELEANA CLEARY:
Elaena took part and won the Staten Island Advance All-Star Selection - June 2008 and won the CHSAA All-Star Tournament (with Alyssa Mazzoli), including winning the longest drive and closest to the pin - May 2008
Elena Cleary won her second straight Jody's Junior Classic girls' title on July 11th 2007, defeating Natalie Miceli 2 and 1 at Silver Lake Golf Club in Staten Island. Cleary, an Advance All Star at St. John Villa this season, has won the first two Island girls' junior events this year, (taking the Kiwanis Easter Tourney back in April) and can make it three in a row at the Lowney Junior in August.
She also netted a berth in this summer's Staten Island Girls' Junior Amateur, where she was the runner-up in 2006. Cleary was 2-down after dropping the first and fourth holes, but righted the ship by with a winning bogey on the fifth and a par on the sixth. Her bogey on seven put her 1-up, but Miceli bogeyed the ninth to square the match again.
Cleary parred 10 for the lead again, but Miceli's bogey on 11 squared it again. A bogey on 13 put Cleary back in the driver's seat and a par on the 17th gave her the 2-and-1 win.
SEAN PRISCO:
- 2nd place in the 2007 Jodie Junior Classic held at Silver Lake Golf Course (Men's division).
- 1st place Winner in 2006 THE JODY (Staten Island) - Boys 16-18 Division
STEVE WILCOX:
- Congratulations of passing his PGA Playing Ability Test (PAT), Port St. Lucie, Fl, July 2008.
KAREN CHUNG:
- 1st place - NJ PGA/US Kids Westfield Pee Wee at Hyatt Hills (Girls - age group 12)
Student Updates
Bill,
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how Jeff and Bill King did at a recent golf tournament. We recently won the Collegiate Golf Alliance (CGA) 2007 National Golf Championships. It was held at the Badlands Golf Club, in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 9-11, 2007. It was a 2-man scramble format.
There were approximately 37 colleges represented in Las Vegas that competed in the following 3 divisions: Student/Student, Student/Faculty and Alumni/Community. We won the Alumni/Community Division with an even par 72.
We also did well in the overall Skills Challenge: Jeff placed 3rd and I placed 1st . Jeff is currently a 2nd year student at Salisbury University.
